El Presidio Park - Tucson

Posted September 1, 2014

El Presidio Park is located downtown Tucson between City Hall and the Old Courthouse. The site has been in use since 1539. The Old Pima County Courthouse with its colorful tile dome overlooks the plaza which features among many monuments, a World World II Memorial commemorating the Battle of the Bulge, a small rose garden dedicated to John F. Kennedy, a large modern fountain, the Mormon Battalion Bronze Statue in remembrance of their march through Tucson 150 years ago, and the bronze statue of the Leather Coated Soldier “El Soldado de Cuera”. See you next time at Around Tucson & Southern Arizona.
