Junior Achievement of Arizona

Posted January 9, 2015

Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students in grades K – 12 about entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy through hands-on programs taught by volunteers from the community. JA provides detailed activity plans for volunteers and well-designed, interesting materials for the students. One of the programs that we especially like for its timeliness and relevancy in today’s economy is “JA Global Marketplace” recommended for students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Each of the six activities in this program takes about 45 minutes. It’s a lot of fun for the students as well as their teacher and the volunteer. If you can invest one hour a week for six weeks, do consider becoming a volunteer. It really is rewarding. For details give Carolyn Gorst a call (520) 792-2319 or visit www.JAAZ.org.
