Real Estate Designations - Why Are They Important?
Posted February 8, 2015
CIPS, CRS, GRI…What do these initials behind a REALTOR’s name mean? They are designations attesting that the REALTOR® is a committed real estate professional, not content to just take the minimum courses needed to obtain & maintain a real estate license, but determined to improve his or her professional skills. Some of the designations such as the Associate Broker, the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) and the GRI are awarded upon completing rigorous educational programs from recognized experts in their fields and passing exams. For details you can visit the National Association of REALTORS® web site, and of course, as you would when hiring any professional, do check their credentials.
